Out of the Funk: A Soul-Powered Guide to Freedom, Faith, and Kingdom Leadership

Why I Wrote This Post

If you’ve been following my recent blog posts, you know they’ve carried the raw weight of grief—especially around spiritual leadership, invisible burdens, and the heartbreak of estrangement.

The month of May was heavy.

But something shifted in June. I felt the inertia break.
I feel like myself again—only bolder. Clearer. Rooted in deeper faith.
That shift is why I wrote this. Because if you’re in a funk, I want you to know:
You’re not alone. And more importantly—this isn’t the end of your story.

The Funk Is Real

Every soul-powered leader hits seasons where life feels flat.

You’re doing the work.
Showing up.
Checking the boxes.
Keeping the faith.

But inside?
The spark dims.
The clarity fades.
Your joy feels distant.

This isn’t failure.
This is a divine pause.

Being in a funk doesn’t mean you’re off course. It means your soul is inviting you to course-correct—to return to what’s real.

Part 1 – Understanding the Root

A spiritual funk often comes from holding on to what no longer serves you.

That could mean:

  • Carrying emotional weight that was never yours.
  • Operating from patterns of performance, perfectionism, or fear.
  • Silencing your voice out of fatigue, grief, or shame.

Many leaders carry unprocessed grief, compassion fatigue, and subconscious beliefs that quietly erode their power and joy.

💭 Reflection Questions:

  • Am I aligned with what truly matters to me?
  • Where am I giving my energy out of obligation instead of divine calling?

Part 2 – Returning to Alignment

Your soul always points you back to truth.

Discernment isn’t detachment—it’s sacred clarity.
Peace isn’t passivity—it’s power rooted in presence.

When you get still and invite divine wisdom in, you begin to recognize where misalignment crept in. God isn’t asking you to push harder—He’s inviting you to come home to yourself.

To wholeness.
To truth.
To trust.

Part 3 – Reclaiming Holy Pleasure

Many high-performing leaders are disconnected from joy—trained to serve, sacrifice, and stay silent.

But here’s the truth:
Desire is not a distraction—it’s divine.
Creativity, beauty, rest, and play are not luxuries. They are evidence of a life aligned with God’s design.

“In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” — Psalm 16:11

Let this be your permission slip:
You are allowed to feel good.
Joy is not optional. It’s holy.

Part 4 – Walking Into Freedom

Spiritual funks are often invitations to release control.

To stop striving.
To stop performing.
To stop trying to earn what has already been given.

You don’t have to prove anything.
You don’t have to hold everything.
You are already loved, already worthy, already held.

Freedom begins the moment you stop running from stillness and start trusting that God will meet you there.

Why This Matters as a Kingdom Leader

This is not just about emotional wellness—it’s about Kingdom readiness.

When you’re in a funk, your leadership suffers. Your clarity dims. Your impact dulls.

And in today’s world—a world groaning for truth, healing, and authentic leadership—we cannot afford to stay stuck.

As a Kingdom Leader, your inner alignment is part of your divine assignment.
Your freedom fuels your influence.
Your healing prepares you for holy impact.

This is why I became a Kingdom Factor Coach—to help leaders like you heal, recalibrate, and rise into your full calling without sacrificing your soul in the process.

The Call to Marketplace Ministry

You don’t have to be in a pulpit to be in ministry.

Your business, your leadership, your influence in the marketplace is your ministry.
God placed you there to disrupt culture, carry His presence, and advance the Kingdom in spaces where religion alone cannot reach.

But you can’t carry the mantle if your soul is depleted.
You can’t be a Kingdom solution while operating from burnout.

This is why your joy matters.
Your clarity matters.
Your wholeness matters.

Your healing isn’t just personal—it’s holy.

Soul Activation Prayer

Dear God,
I pray that you reveal what no longer serves me.
Free me from false attachments and the lies I’ve believed about my worth.
I reclaim my joy, my voice, and my divine desires.
Let Your Spirit lead my Holy Shift.
In Jesus’ name, amen.
