12 Days of Christmas Series – Day 3: Awakening Divine Leadership Through Connection

Welcome, everyone, to Soul Power to the People Podcast, Season 4, where our theme is “Awaken Your Divine Leadership.” I’m your host, Tess Vergara, and this is Episode 3 of Season 4, as well as Day 3 of our 12 Days of Christmas Series. This series is all about awakening the gifts of Christ within us. I’m so glad you’re here to dive in.

Recap: Awakening Your Divine Leadership

So, let’s recap: We’ve been laying the foundation for divine leadership awakening. In the first couple of episodes, we explored how to embrace your divine gifts and the power of presence. Today, we’re going even deeper into the power of connection, which goes hand-in-hand with presence. And why is connection so important? Because we live in a world that tells us success is about doing more—more meetings, more people, more tasks. But what we truly need, what we really want, is connection.

True Connection: Soul to Soul

When I say connection, I don’t just mean texting a friend or chatting with your business or leadership team. I mean real, deep connection—the kind that flows from your soul. It’s the connection that awakens divine energy, purpose, and leadership—heart to heart, soul to soul.

Leadership Through Connection: More Than Just Self-Reliance

In a world that often promotes self-reliance and the superwoman syndrome, true leadership is built on connection—connection to others, to ourselves, and to God. As John 15:5 reminds us: “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me, and I in you, you will bear much fruit. Apart from me, you can do nothing.” Let that sink in for a moment. How might tapping into the power of connection to God and others nourish your leadership, your purpose, and your relationships?

Take a moment and reflect: What does connection really mean for your leadership?

John 15:5

Three Key Connections for Soul-Powered Leadership

Today, we’re going to dive into three key connections that are foundational to divine leadership:

  1. Connection to Divine Source
  2. Connection to Yourself
  3. Connection to Others

The power of connection creates a flow of divine energy that doesn’t just nourish your soul but elevates everyone around you.

Connection to Yourself: Grounding Your Leadership

Let’s start with connection to self. As a leader, it’s easy to feel disconnected, especially in today’s fast-paced world where everything is about being busy and productive—go, go, go. Whether you’re running a business or leading in any capacity, it’s easy to lose touch with your authentic self, your purpose, and even your connection to God.

I’ve seen this in my work with clients, and I’ve experienced it myself. We get swept up in life’s rush, running on autopilot, and before we know it, we no longer recognize ourselves. That’s when burnout and feelings of loneliness or frustration set in. But here’s the good news: when we reconnect with our authentic self, everything changes. Authentic leadership is about aligning your actions with your deepest values and listening to your soul’s whispers.

Presence is the Key to Authentic Leadership

When you’re present with yourself, when you reconnect with your soul, you’re also reconnecting to the divine source—tapping into divine energy. And that’s where your leadership flows from. True leadership doesn’t come from external pressure—it comes from a place of deep purpose. John 15:5 says: “I am the vine; you are the branches.” When you’re connected to the vine, you’re grounded, centered, and able to lead with power.

Presence and Self-Awareness: The Path to Leadership

Self-awareness is key to reconnecting with your true essence. When you realize that you don’t have to do it all alone, and that you’re meant to be connected with God, with others, and most of all, with your soul, your leadership becomes aligned and stronger.

The Power of Presence and Connection with Others

Now, let’s move on to connection with others. True connection isn’t about how many people you know—it’s about the quality of the connections you have. True connection happens when you are fully present with someone. How often are you in conversations where one person is mentally elsewhere? When you’re distracted, you miss the chance to truly connect. But self-awareness allows you to correct this. With presence, you can create meaningful connections.

Connection and the Flow of Divine Love

When you are fully present with others, it’s a two-way street. You’re giving attention and receiving energy in return. It’s rooted in God’s love. The more we stay connected to our divine source, the more we can give, without forcing connections. True leadership isn’t about overextending yourself; it’s about being present and letting divine love naturally extend to those around you.

The Power of Connection with God

Finally, let’s talk about the most powerful connection of all—connection with God. It’s easy to feel disconnected, especially when life gets overwhelming. But remember, when we center ourselves and stay present, we open up the space for divine guidance. John 15 reminds us that staying connected to God is key to bearing fruit in every area of our lives.

Staying Rooted in God’s Presence for Leadership

Being present with God doesn’t require perfection—it only requires intention. The intention to stay connected to God, to remain in Him, and to allow His guidance to flow through you. When you remain rooted in God’s presence, your decisions are inspired by a higher vision. You lead with greater clarity, purpose, and peace.

The Ripple Effect of Connection in Leadership

The impact of staying connected is transformational. When you are rooted in God’s presence, that energy flows into every aspect of your life—your leadership, your relationships, your business. Divine connection isn’t just about doing more; it’s about being more—being present, being connected.

Reflecting on Your Leadership: Where Can You Be More Present?

So, as we wrap up, I invite you to reflect: Where might you be disconnected—whether with yourself, others, or God? How can you bring more presence into your leadership? How can you stay more connected to your divine source? Ask yourself these reflection questions:

  • What leadership decisions could be transformed through a deeper connection with God and your authentic self?
  • Who in your circle needs your authentic presence today? How can you show up more fully for them?
  • What is God calling you to release in order to stay connected to Him and your purpose?

I challenge you to take one action today to bring your presence into your leadership—whether it’s a meeting, a conversation, or a decision-making moment. Let your connection to self, to others, and to God guide your actions.

Closing Thoughts: Soul-Powered Leadership and Lasting Impact

Remember, your leadership is shaped by how deeply connected you are to yourself, others, and God. When you show up with presence, you strengthen your ability to lead with impact and joy. Leading from connection means you’re not just achieving goals—you’re transforming lives.
