Unique and Divinely YOU

I was at a funeral today and was reflecting yet again how it oftentimes takes pain, terror and grief of losing someone, or almost dying , or a major life change (divorce, illness, job loss, financial ruin) to wake us up to what matters most.

In this day and age of relentless distraction, busyness and disconnect, people are in constant stress and hardship, living life unrewarded and unfulfilled.

Many are alive but as good as dead.

Life has lost meaning.

The irony is… we have to die to live a full life. We have to die many deaths to claim our birthright and heed our soul’s yearning. We die many deaths in this lifetime and each time we do, we discover the truth of who we are.  

In the words of Fr. Thomas Keating, whom I first turned to when I needed salvation from what felt like burning hell, he said and I kept this to heart:

“The spiritual journey is not a career or a success story. It is a series of humiliations of the false self that becomes more and more profound. These make room inside us for the Holy Spirit to come in and heal.”

It is this false sense of self that has to die. False self believes it is small, limited and separate from God.

To behold God is to dis-identify with your ego story that you are small, limited and separate from God.

To behold God is to transcend beyond ego identification and claim our divine inheritance of infinite love and abundance.

We are created in the image and likeness of God.

Self-realizing our godlikeness is the path to greatest fulfillment. Embodying our divine nature enables us to have a meaningful life that is also full, vibrant and alive.

It doesn’t mean we lose our self and sacrifice our humanly desires and pleasures. It means losing all false beliefs that hold us back from living and fully expressing our highest potential and infinite abundance. 

This is key and worth repeating – we need not give up or sacrifice our self – what we need is lose the false humility conditioned in us and allow God to be discovered, accepted and be fully expressed through us, in us, as us.

We do this either kicking and screaming until we wake up to our higher truth, or, listen intuitively and surrender to this Higher Intelligence already within us and is us.

Each one of us is a perfect expression of God’s unconditional love.

YOU are a Unique Self Individuated Expression of God’s Infinite Love.

It is time you step up, step in and celebrate your Unique and Divine YOU for “all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine: and I am glorified in them” (John 17:10)
